Comic Review: Batman: Hush

Hush

This is a Batman comic that has fans either loving it or hating it. Some think that the plot points are stupid and/or unnecessary or cliche. Others think that it is a fantastic, one of a kind thrill ride that pulls out all the stops. I am closer to agreeing with the latter, however I agree yet disagree with the former as well. I agree that some of the plot points are a tad cliche but it's done in such a fantastic and engaging way that I don't care. First off the comic is written by Jeph Loeb who has done work on nearly all the big named marvel heroes and who is a big fan favorite in the comic book world, and secondly the pencils are done by the masterful Jim Lee, who's worked on projects such as the illustrations for a few X-Men in 1989 and Superman: For Tomorrow. So already I am giving this comic points, now lets move on more towards the review.
The story centers around our main character Batman who is being heckled, harassed and sabotaged from the shadows by a bandage wrapped face man calling himself Hush. The story itself opens up on Killer Croc holding a boy captive and Batman attempting to rescue him, and from this single event a series of incidents unfold that will lead Bruce on an ever-growing trail of mystery, madness and deception helped along by a handful of notorious Batman villains including Joker, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Killer Croc even a phenomenal crossover with Superman, all ending in a spectacular climax and an appearance by a face not seen in years.
Overall I find this comic incredible and a must for the Batman lover. It has a great story that really has the old school Batman feel of a detective mystery with really intricate plot points and mind bending twists. The villains are more maniacal than ever, some featuring new enhancements to their powers even, and the feeling when the pieces come together is explosive. Not to mention the interactions between Batman and Superman are, in my opinion, some of the best action sequences in comics. That capped with the incredible penciling of Jim Lee(I feel this is his best by the way) and color of Alex Sinclair make this a fantastic must read.

Batman: Hush
A comic I don't think should be kept "under wraps"
Thanks for reading :)
